Segregation

by Ross

One of my more casually controversial views is that single-sex toilets are a ridiculous folly. To me, having men’s and women’s toilets in an office environment is every bit as ludicrous as it would be to have segregated loos on a plane, in a train, at home, or in a hotel room. My ideal world would have mixed, unisex cubicles, with some nearby (screened off) urinals. This would be less wasteful of floorspace and resources, while allowing higher toilet throughput. However, I have resigned myself to the fact that, outside Ally McBeal, nobody seems to care. Not so Marissa, who has written this long piece on the gender implications of toilet signs. Her post is funny and interesting, but I can’t help but wonder: if she had to create signs for single-sex toilet doors, what would they say?

Cadwell Park

by Ross

This is Cadwell Park, where I was riding Ian’s GSXR race bike on Monday. Some amateur photos here – the professional ones will go up when I have them.
